ETA Opposes Tariffs on Cash Registers and Point-of-Sale Devices Manufactured in Mexico
6-6-2019
June 6, 2019 – The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) issued the following statement from Interim Chief Executive Officer Amy Zirkle in response to the Trump administration’s plan to impose tariffs on Mexican imports.
“ETA members power the U.S. economy by providing secure and affordable payments technology like point-of-sale devices and cash registers. These products drive purchases, grow small businesses, and create economic opportunities across the country. Increased tariffs on these products that are manufactured in Mexico will only mean higher costs for Americans and lead to cost increases for small and medium-business owners.”
