ETA Applauds Senate for Historic Coronavirus Stimulus Package

March 25, 2020 – WASHINGTON, D.C. – The following statement can be attributed to Jodie Kelley, Chief Executive Officer for the Electronic Transactions Association, at the passage in the U.S. Senate of the CARES Act to respond to the coronavirus pandemic:
“ETA commends the Senate for taking action to support consumers, small businesses and the payments technology ecosystem in this time of crisis. The CARES Act gives much needed support to our country’s struggling small businesses by allowing Fintechs and banks to offer them access to capital that can be used to pay their workers and keep their businesses afloat.
We also applaud the Senate for supporting companies of all sizes that enable commerce and recognizing them as a critical component to the growth and stability of the American economy. ETA members stand ready to implement the programs outlined in the bill to connect consumers and merchants.
Our thoughts are with the millions around the world who are suffering and fighting against this virus.”
