Electronic Transactions Association Announces Appointment of Christy Ellerbee as Vice President of State Government Affairs

Washington, D.C. — November 17— The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) today announced that Christy Ellerbee has been appointed Vice President of State Government Affairs. In this role, Ms. Ellerbee will direct ETA’s state-level advocacy initiatives nationwide, representing the interests of the payments technology industry before state policymakers and regulatory bodies.
As ETA continues to address evolving policy challenges at the state level, Ms. Ellerbee will play a key leadership role in advancing the association’s strategic objectives for 2026 and beyond. Her appointment reinforces ETA’s commitment to a proactive and coordinated state advocacy program that supports innovation, consumer protection, and a competitive payments marketplace.

Ms. Ellerbee brings more than fourteen years of experience in state government relations. Prior to joining ETA, she served for two years with Global Payments, an ETA member company, and held a leadership position on ETA’s State Executive Council. She holds a Bachelor of Political Science and Public Administration from Georgia College & State University and a Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law.
