WalMart Adds Instant Access to Virtual Credit Card to its Mobile Wallet

6-9-2017

New Research Finds Mobile Payments Reaching Tipping Point in Some Countries

WalMart, the nation’s largest retailer, announced in a press release on Wednesday that the retail chain is adding instant access to WalMart credit cards on their WalMart Pay mobile wallet.

Citing the desire to create faster and more convenient mobile payments, customers who are approved for WalMart credit cards will be able to access their card immediately via the WalMart Pay application without having to wait for the physical card to arrive in the mail. That means that from the moment the new customer is approved, their card will be available virtually through the WalMart Pay app to use at all storefront locations and on the retailer’s website.

The announcement comes less than a year after the roll out of WalMart’s mobile payment app.
