Transaction Trending EP33: FinTech and the Underserved – A Congressional Perspective with Rep. Gregory Meeks
6-5-2019

On this episode of Transaction Trending, we continue our conversation on where politics, policy and payments meet.
Joining Interim CEO of ETA Amy Zirkle and ETA Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Scott Talbott on this episode is a real leader for FinTech in Congress: Rep. Gregory Meeks.
Rep. Meeks represents New York’s Fifth Congressional District, one of the most diverse districts in the country and one that makes up most of Queens and Rockaway in New York City.
Rep. Meeks is a Senior Member of the House Committee on Financial Services and the Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Consumer Protections & Financial Institutions. He’s also a member of the Congressional FinTech and Payments Caucus.
We bring you today a conversation ETA SVP of Government Affairs Scott Talbott had with Rep. Meeks in his DC Office on Capitol Hill.
Next week on June 12th, we’ll be hosting our annual Congressional Payments Caucus Reception on Capitol Hill, where we will honor Rep. Meeks and other Congressional leaders who are champions for our industry. On September 11th, we will host our annual Payments Fly-In on Capitol Hill, where ETA members spend a day here in Washington connect directly with leaders in Congress, regulatory agencies and the White House. The next day, we’ll host our annual FinTech Policy Forum, a one-day event where policymakers and payments professionals come together to network and discuss the intersection of our industry and public policy.
Visit www.electran.org/public-policy to RSVP to the reception, and to register for the Fly-In and FinTech Policy Forum.
