Retailers Desire Mobile Payment Tech
4-19-2017
New data from IT software provider Zynstra reveals that adding mobile payment capabilities is the top tech priority for retailers. The survey of 300 c-suite retail leaders and IT professionals in the U.S. and U.K. found that providing consumers with mobile payments options led significantly over other technology options, including scan as you shop, which appealed to 44%, and in-store analytics which came in at 37%.
Ninety-seven percent of respondents view IT as a “strategic asset” to their retail operations, but only 47% said they currently had the resources to meet demands.
Challenges cited by retailers in bringing their tech up to speed included budget and security, with 59% concerned about cost and managing remote systems.
