Mastercard Mobile Payments Truck Debuts at TRANSACT

Today at the TRANASACT exhibit hall opening, Mastercard unveiled their new mobile payments truck for the first time. The Mastercard Mobile Payments truck showcases interactive payment technology demonstrations. Through the Mastercard Mobile Payments Truck, TRANSACT attendees are able to experience the latest innovations in artificial intelligence; safety and security; and device-based commerce in an increasingly IoT world.
Among the many innovations MasterCard is demonstrating here are:
- Groceries by Mastercard – integrated into a Samsung refrigerator, Groceries by Mastercard allows users to order groceries direct for delivery or pick-up.
- Conversational Commerce – This Artificial Intelligence (AI) bot platform allows consumers to transact, manage finances, conduct business and buy products via messaging platforms and natural language interfaces.
- Smart Cities – A demonstration of how mobile ticketing can enhance transportation services in large cities.
- Pay at Table – A demonstration of Cakepay, Cheesecake Factory’s in-market pay at table solution with Masterpass payment.
- Qkr Vending Machine – The Qkr vending machine highlights Mastercard’s identification of how existing vending machines could be retrofitted with a simple piece of hardware that enables Masterpass payment by pairing with the user’s mobile device via Bluetooth connectivity and leveraging the device’s mobile data to communicate with the network to complete the payment.
- Commerce for Every Device – A demonstration of how chip technology can be embedded in clothing and accessories for making in-store NFC purchases without the user having a card or a mobile device physically present. Demonstrations of Ringly, a payments enabled ring are taking place.
- Masterpass Wallet app – A demonstration of the enhanced issuer-wallet, highlighting ease of enrollment, biometric authentication, easy integration in issuer mobile banking apps and other value added services.
