Infographic: How America Pays in 2016

ETA member Blackhawk Network has released an insightful infographic, How America Pays in 2016.
The report finds that cash usage is down 6% and checks are down 8% from 2015 to 2016, with 75% of respondents using Debit, 69% using Credit, 43% using gift cards, 38% using prepaid, 18% opting for mobile. Of smart phone owners, 33% employ mobile wallets.
When it comes to rewards, 45% of shoppers surveyed said they preferred rewards paid through prepaid or gift cards, 44% plan to purchase gift cards to spend on themselves this year, with 74% saying they hope to receive gift cards from others.
