ETA Applauds the Senate for Providing Additional PPP Funding to Small Businesses
WASHINGTON, D.C. – April 21, 2020 – The following statement is attributed to Jodie Kelley, CEO, Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), the global trade association for the payments technology industry, regarding the passage in the Senate of the Paycheck Protection Program Increase Act of 2020:
“We thank the Senate for its bipartisan effort to pass additional funding for the Paycheck Protection Program. American small businesses can use the much-needed funds to keep their doors open and pay their workers.
To date, ETA members have distributed billions of dollars in PPP loans to tens of thousands small businesses. Unfortunately, when PPP reached its funding limit last week, many small businesses across the country were still in need of assistance.
We are grateful that the Senate acted swiftly to allocate additional PPP funding. We urge the House to quickly approve the measure so ETA members can assist small businesses in accessing this funding through innovative lending platforms.”
