ETA Political Action Committee (ETAPAC)

Thank you for your interest in ETAPAC, the political action committee of the payments industry. ETAPAC is an important tool that will allow ETA to more effectively represent your interests in Washington, DC. ETA is working hard on your behalf to explain to the U.S. Congress why the payments industry is vital to the continued economic growth of the United States.

The Electronic Transactions Association PAC (ETAPAC) is the federally registered political action committee of the Electronic Transactions Association. ETAPAC is dedicated to supporting pro-industry candidates for the United States Senate and House of Representatives.

Give Us Your Permission to Help the Payments Industry

To build your industry PAC, we need to receive your company’s authorization form. As a trade association, ETAPAC is required by federal law to have your authorization before we ask for your financial support. This form does not obligate you to contribute to ETAPAC, but it does allow us to share information on political and legislative activities

Why Should I Sign an Authorization Form?

ETAPAC ensures that ETA remains the primary voice in the electoral process by supporting candidates who understand our industry and issues. ETAPAC can directly support candidates and legislators who support your views on the issues vital to the future of your business. ETAPAC cannot accept contributions without a signed authorization form. Granting authorization allows company employees who wish to support ETAPAC the ability to do so. We need the support of ETA members to help to advance the priorities of the payments industry.

What Is an Authorization Form?

Federal law mandates that we have your permission to keep you up-to-date on the ETAPAC’s programs and activities. The authorization form does not obligate you to contribute to the PAC or limit contributions you may make to candidates or party organizations. The purpose of this form is to provide the authorization required by federal law to allow ETAPAC to include the executive personnel of member companies in the political process through personal contributions. All contributions are voluntary, and the suggested amount of a contribution is only a suggestion. The amount given by the contributor, or the refusal to give, will not benefit or disadvantage the person being solicited.

Who Can Sign Authorization Forms?

Authorization can be given by any corporate representative if the member company has not given authorization to another association PAC.

How Can I Help?

Federal law requires separate and specific consent for each year. By signing for the next five years, ETAPAC will not have to send you a notice every year to update our authorization. This will make it easier for us to communicate with you about our programs and events.
