11-8-2020
Washington, D.C. – November 8, 2020 – The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) CEO Jodie Kelley released the following statement on the results of the 2020 election.
“ETA and the electronic payments industry congratulate President-elect Joe Biden on being declared the winner of the 2020 election. We also congratulate Vice President-elect Kamala Harris for her historic election. Last night, she spoke of the power to build a better future, a goal the electronic payments industry strongly supports every day.
When President-elect Biden and Vice-President-elect Harris are sworn in in January, they will face the historic challenge of addressing the pandemic. During this crisis, the electronic payments industry has worked tirelessly to assist consumers and businesses.
ETA and its members pledge to continue this leadership in close cooperation with the Biden–Harris administration and the new Congress, to strengthen our nation’s people and its economy, and to support the competitive marketplace that fosters the drive and spirit of the American people.”
