Global Payments CIO Appears on Atlanta Tech Edge to Discuss TRANSACT Tech Atlanta, Role of FinTech in Data Security
6-19-2017
Dr. Guido Sacchi, Executive Vice President and CIO of Global Payments Inc., appeared Sunday on WXIA-TV’s Atlanta Tech Edge show to discuss the growing role of FinTech firms in payments security, a topic he will be speaking about on the CIO panel at ETA’s upcoming TRANSACT Tech ATL event.
“The panel is going to be very interesting, it’s going to talk about the intersection of innovation specific to the payments industry and FinTech, and security,” Sacchi told WXIA-TV’s Cara Kneer, “as cybersecurity becomes more and more of a boardroom discussion, and obviously it’s top of mind for consumers, we are going talk a lot about how innovation and security go together.”
Sacchi emphasized the necessity for seamless security solutions in the payment ecosystems. Like quality, security needs to be considered and perfected before going to market, Sacchi told WXIA-TV.
“Consumers want a great user experience…and demand security that is present but not intrusive. I am a big believer that security and innovation go hand in hand, but security needs to be transparent and intelligent so not to impair the great and pleasant user experience that we’re trying to deliver to our customers.”
Sacchi also discussed with Kneer the value of hosting a premier payments FinTech event in Atlanta, a city that, as Kneer noted at the beginning of the interview, has rapidly developed into a leading hub of payments innovation.
“We are all going to come together to have a great event for networking, information sharing, business opportunities and, again, contributing to make the FinTech industry thrive in our great city” Sacchi said.
Sacchi will be featured on a panel discussion titled “Securing the Future of Payments Innovation” with two other CIOs from Atlanta-based FinTech companies NCR Corporation and Elavon.
