PayPal Rebrands

May 5, 2014 – PayPal, the market leader in digital payments, has updated its look. The new logo, is modernized, brighter, and meant to make PayPal stand out in a growing field of electronic-payments competitors.

“Connection is a motivating principle behind the redesign; connection to money, to people and between people,” said Christina Smedley, Vice President, Global Brand, PayPal. “It was important to evoke connection that was human and approachable, not too technical.”

The logo will be a better visual fit on mobile devices, and the company is eager to promote that PayPal enables payments nearly anywhere, not just on-line and not just person-to-person.

Pay-Pal continues its expansion into retail spaces through its growing acceptance at large retailers such as Home Depot and Toys-R-Us, its PayPal Here card reader, and through its new PayPal Beacon.
