Coupons.com Links Discounts Directly to Payment Cards
Coupons.com has launched CardLink IQ (CLiQ), a new service that enables shoppers to add coupons directly to their payment cards and automatically receive their savings at checkout. To use CLiQ, consumers register their payment card and select the offers they want via Coupon.com’s website or mobile app. After completing the purchase at the point of sale, the savings are directly credited to the shopper’s bank or credit card. Cash discounts are settled within a few days, while the redemption codes for gift card rewards are sent in minutes. Consumers still swipe their card as usual for coupon acceptance, but merchants are able to track their digital marketing spend to purchases in real time, using the provided reporting tools. Coupon.com built CLiQ using technology acquired in its deal for Yub in late 2013.
