TRANSACT 15 Opens to Record Crowd

March 31, 2015  — The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), the global trade association representing the payments technology world, today launched TRANSACT 15, the premier annual gathering of the payments technology industry and the biggest event in ETA’s 25 year history.  TRANSACT 15 opened to a record crowd of payments leaders, retailers, technology companies, start-ups, investors and press at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA. Keynote speakers from Visa, Ant Financial Americas, First Data, Intel and Samsung will deliver insights on the future of payments and over 200 exhibitors are showcasing their latest payments technology on TRANSACT 15’s 45,000 sq. ft. show floor.  Show-floor passes and on-site registration for TRANSACT 15 are still available. “TRANSACT 15 is the biggest, most important and most exciting event in payments,” said Jason Oxman, ETA CEO.  “This is a pivotal year for payments with the EMV shift, spotlight on mobile adoption and interest in digital currency – TRANSACT 15 gives payments leaders everything they need to accelerate their business.”

Among TRANSACT’s many highlights, attendees will get a preview of the future of commerce with live demonstrations at Intel’s 2,500 square foot Internet of Things consumer experience and Visa’s connected car, a concept enabling innovative in-car purchase experience designed to be secure, convenient and easy. Additionally, TRANSACT will feature the latest Bitcoin products and services from companies, including BitPay and Bitnet, in the World of Bitcoin.

ETA and Goldman Sachs Global Investment Research released their annual ETA-GS Merchant Acquirer and ISO Survey. Among key findings, the survey revealed that among merchant acquirers, there has been a significant uptick in Bitcoin adoption; small ISOs are gaining back market share; and merchant acquirers have a positive outlook on the future of electronic payments, with more than 60 percent expecting volume growth to accelerate.

During ETA’s EMV Boot Camp, one of six specialized conference tracks, ETA debuted SellSafeInfo.org, a new resource offering intelligence to navigate new payments opportunities, and premiered a short film for merchants on upgrading to EMV. The new website and video provide merchants with information on the October 1, 2015 EMV liability shift, payments security technologies, and merchant opportunities in accepting mobile payments.

TRANSACT’s global reach brings together, under one roof, the entire payments ecosystem – everyone from the major mobile network operators and equipment manufacturers to online service providers, retailers, retail technology providers, major processors, all of the major card brands and venture capital/investors – thousands of leaders and partners that you need to access to grow your business. This year’s program features unmatched educational opportunities including 6 conference tracks, speakers from the world’s top payments and technology companies and unlimited opportunities for industry connectivity. TRANSACT also offers the EPay Innovation Award, a $25,000-award for the Payments Pitch-Off competitor displaying the most innovative service or product with the promise of increasing electronic transactions access to underserved communities. TRANSACT 15 is where titans and start-ups alike go to connect, partner, grow and advance payments.  For more information, visit www.transact15.com.
