Mitek Enables Businesses to Accept Mobile Photo Payments

Mitek’s new Mobile Photo Payments solution enables enterprises to simplify how customers pay their bills by taking a photo of the bill and then an image of a check or credit card. The option is offered as a native iOS or Android app or through the mobile Web, enabling mobile users to potentially tap a button to select the option rather than entering a user name and password. Seven types of common bills—major credit cards, store-branded credit cards, student loans, mortgages, mobile phone bills, utility bills, and vehicle loans—are supported by the Mitek offering. Mitek also offers solutions to accelerate the account sign-up process by photographing a driver’s license, which means mobile device users do not have to type in a lot of information. “Our mission is to think of ways to stamp out friction in the mobile channel,” says Mitek’s Scott Carter. “We want to add instant, anywhere access to what can sometimes be clunky experiences.”
