Latest ETA Market Research Report Shows Health & Medical Services, Entertainment & Recreation, and Construction Services Are Top Performing Merchant Verticals

December 12, 2013 –  ETA  released its U.S. Economic Indicators Report for the third quarter of 2013. Published quarterly with analysis from The Strawhecker Group (TSG) for the benefit of ETA member companies, the 20th edition of the report shows the industry continued to outperform the traditional market sector during the third quarter.

Using proprietary data and analysis from TSG, ETA’s Economic Indicators Report surveys the state of the electronics payments industry alongside key macro- and microeconomic data points. Armed with this information, ETA members can judge how the payments industry performs in various economic climates and in comparison to major economic indicators. The report includes valuable data including the changing value in public payments companies, average merchant attrition rates, regional and retail performance metrics, as well as Visa/MasterCard volumes and special analyses conducted by TSG’s Metrics Division.

The 20th Edition of the ETA’s U.S. Economic Indicators Report contains a special introduction focusing on the top performing merchant verticals for acquirers and ISOs. This introduction shows that the Health & Medical Services, Entertainment & Recreation, and Construction Services merchant verticals were among the most attractive SIC code groupings from Q3 2012 to Q3 2013. These three merchant verticals had the highest growth rates in terms of card usage over the time period and were some of the most profitable merchants for merchant acquiring portfolios.

This report is only available in full to ETA members. Companies interested in becoming members of ETA should contact Del Baker, ETA’s membership director, at [email protected] or 202-828-2635.
