Flint Mobile Debuts Android Mobile Payment App
Flint Mobile has rolled out a swipe-free mobile payment application aimed at small businesses and their employees who work outside of traditional storefront and office settings. Flint scans card numbers with the smartphone camera and supports real-time transaction processing, without storing any card data or image on the handset. The free, downloadable app interoperates with a wide spectrum of Android devices, and it enables retailers to accept payments by scanning card numbers rather than swiping a card through a reader. In addition, users can boost repeat and referral business via Flint’s integrated marketing tools. Using Flint, customers also can post reviews and recommendations on Facebook and company websites, while logos, receipts, menu options, sales taxes, and tips can be configured inside the app. “We think that our ‘no-card-reader’ approach will be compelling across the Android user base,” says Flint Mobile CEO Greg Goldfarb. “With Flint, all you need is your phone and you’re good to go.”
