ETA Welcomes the Modernization of Trade Relations Between the United States, Mexico and Canada as the USMCA Enters into Force
Washington, D.C. – July 1, 2020 – The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), the global trade association for the payments technology industry, welcomes the modernization of trade relations between the U.S., Mexico and Canada as the United States-Mexico-Canada-Agreement (USMCA) comes into force today.

This agreement fosters innovation by strengthening cross border digital trade, providing critical privacy protections, and advancing electronic payment products and services that enable 21st century financial engagement."
The USMCA contains improvements and significant advancements in the approaches to the rules of origin, intellectual property, digital trade, financial services, and numerous other sectors. These enhancements will expand market access and provide stronger protections and new opportunities for Americans.
