ETA Statement Regarding the Release of NIST’s Cybersecurity Framework.

February 12, 2014 – Statement by Jason Oxman, Chief Executive Officer, Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), regarding the release of NIST’s Cybersecurity Framework.

“The payments industry understands the importance of protecting networks and data, and we appreciate the collaborative efforts led by NIST which sought significant input from both public and private stakeholders. We are pleased to see that the voluntary framework relies on existing international standards, practices and procedures that have proven effective. ETA member companies have a long history of developing innovative solutions to ensure privacy and security in transactions and we look forward to continuing to collaboratively with NIST on this important issue.”
