Speaking with host Pedro Echevarria, Oxman provided a high-level overview of the migration to chip or “EMV” cards and the road ahead for payments security. Oxman explained some of the many technologies beyond EMV being implemented to keep transactions safe including tokenization and end-to-end encryption.
Other issues addressed in the segment included precisely how a merchant goes about making the upgrade to accept chip-cards, the risks of not upgrading, card-not-present fraud, the rise of mobile payments, and payments technology regulation.
