Washington, D.C. – The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), the global trade association representing the payments technology world, announced today the launch of a new Retail Technology Committee. The Committee will identify current and emerging issues and opportunities resulting from the convergence of traditional POS and integrated payments in the retail space.  The Committee is comprised of ETA member companies and is chaired by Jeff Riley, Senior Vice President, Heartland Commerce.

“Now is a time of unmatched innovation in payments and ETA’s new Retail Technology Committee is set to capitalize on this momentum,” said ETA CEO Jason Oxman. “I’m ecstatic that this committee will create partnerships to advance the retail point of sale through education and cross-industry engagement.”

“I’m thrilled to serve as the first Chairperson of ETA’s Retail Technology Committee,” said Jeff Riley, Heartland Commerce SVP. “Heartland is committed to advancing the smartest, most secure technologies available in payments, and we are excited to echo our commitment to excellence through this exciting new committee”.

The Committee will be responsible for producing thought leadership on a variety of issues including EMV, emerging technologies, and the impact of convergence on the industry. The resources produced by this committee will help ETA members successfully navigate the evolving business landscape as the POS and Payments industries converge.
